Top 5 Print Trends for 2016
As an innovative print specialist we always need to think ahead. Here are our top 5 print predictions for 2016:
1. Calming colours
“Colours this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves”, says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Colour Institute. From Rose Quartz to Snorkel Blue, Pantone’s Top 10 Colours for Spring 2016 gravitate towards a palette that is first and foremost calming.
2. Digital developments
With fast turnaround times, value for money and exceptional quality, more and more clients are opting for digital printing. The range of digital paper available is expanding rapidly and we expect to see even more colours, weights and textures available next year. Right now we love G.F Smith’s The Collection digital paper range, which is compatible with our HP Indigo Digital Printer
3. Limitless large format
Advances in large format technology mean that we can now print and cut an ever growing variety of interesting materials such as metal, doors, PVC, fabric & even wallpaper. With large format possibilities truly becoming limitless, we think there will be a growing demand for large format in 2016. Check out our large format Pinterest board for inspiration.
4. Direct mail demand
Royal Mail’s well publicised Private Life of Mail research uncovered how and why direct mail is so effective. We anticipate that direct mail will be a key channel in many 2016 marketing plans. Read the key facts here.
5. Focus on finishing
Over the past year, our high end clients have been requesting the latest finishes in order to make their printed collateral really stand out. We expect that foiling, embossing, duplexing and die-cutting will continue to be popular in 2016. Creative Bloq has a useful guide to the different types of print finishes available.
