Sarah’s Marsden March
Huge congratulations to Sarah Carter, our Director of Client Services, who completed the Marsden March. Sarah walked the long 15mile route between the Royal Marsden’s Chelsea and Sutton hospitals in 4 hrs and 51 minutes.
Sarah said: “The Royal Marsden is really close to mine, my families and friends hearts! It has changed so many lives and the support / treatment they offer is 2nd to none!
“Any donation big or small will ensure their nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
“Together, we can transform the lives of cancer patients.”
At the time of publishing Sarah had raised an incredible £460 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity! The Royal Marsden opened its doors in 1851 as the world’s first hospital dedicated to cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education.
Today it operates as a specialist cancer hospital and National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre for Cancer, working closely with its principal academic partner, the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).
The Royal Marsden operates from two centres, in Chelsea and Sutton, and also has a Medical Daycare Unit at Kingston Hospital. Together, The Royal Marsden and the ICR are ranked in the top five cancer centres in the world for the impact of their research, treating over 59,000 NHS and private patients every year.
Since the Marsden March began in 2011, the incredible walkers have raised over £16m for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity
