St Mungo’s Charity Xmas Dinner

This Christmas POSITIVE+ is working in partnership with Chestertons to support St Mungo’s, so those who have experienced homelessness this year can have a warm and delicious meal on Christmas day.

Charity is a big part of POSITIVE + and we are passionate about how we can give back to the community, which is why we are launching Positive Heroes where you will see the team at POSITIVE+ fund raising for our clients’ charities and the ones close to our hearts.

Our client Chestertons’ main charity partner is St Mungo’s.  Usually, their teams would visit shelters and housing centres at this time of year, spreading Christmas cheer with gifts and decorations.

To adhere to social distancing guidelines, this year Chestertons are taking donations, so instead they can provide those who have experienced homelessness this year with a warm Christmas dinner.

St Mungo’s provide a bed and support to more than 2,700 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and work to prevent homelessness, helping about 25,000 people a year.

They support men and women through more than 300 projects including emergency, hostel and supportive housing projects, advice services and specialist physical health, mental health, skills and work services.

Danny Sullivan, Tont Dennington, Positive+

We are one

Positive and Colouration become POSITIVE+. Building on the success of our year-long partnership, our two companies are moving forward as one new brand.

Positive’s Danny Sullivan has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of POSITIVE+ and Colouration’s Tony Dennington has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer (COO).

Danny Sullivan said, “By bringing the two companies together we have been able to offer all of our clients a wider range of creative solutions, with more capacity for larger projects as well as access to the most sustainable design and manufacturing processes”.

Family run Positive, which was established in 1993 provides design, print, direct mail, web2print and marketing solutions for clients in the retail, media, financial, charity, cosmetics and health and wellbeing sectors.

Whilst Colouration, founded as a family business in 2001, has evolved to become a market leader in delivering high end displays and visual solutions to the beauty, fragrance, retail and events industries.

In 2019 the two companies partnered to form a larger print group and launched their Positive Planet sustainability initiative, with Colouration re-locating to Positive’s newly expanded Greater London site.

Tony Dennington said, “We have been working as one team for over a year and we felt now was the right time to move forward as one fresh new brand and to advertise all of our solutions on one all-encompassing new website.

Our focus moving through and out of covid-19 is all about sustainability. We want to dramatically reduce our impact on the environment by offering measurable alternatives to single use materials. By using greener products, recyclable plastics & adhesives and some very creative cardboard constructible floor and counter display ideas we will be able to offer greener solutions alongside traditionally produced POS items to allow our customers to control the impact we have on the environment.”

“The partnership has worked extremely well, and we certainly are open to future collaborations”, Danny Sullivan added.

Positive’s Mike Sullivan and Jay Sullivan have also been appointed to the POSITIVE+ team of directors.

Clarins #ThankYouNHS Campaign

We were proud to produce 50,000 thank you cards on behalf of Clarins UK for special thank you kits of nourishing Clarins products, which are being delivered to NHS frontline staff across the UK.

Clarins UK are in the process of delivering all 50,000 kits containing nourishing plant formulas and comforting aromas to the amazing frontline doctors, nurses and critical care workers dealing with COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the UK.

The kits will contain Clarins products including Hand & Nail Treatment Cream, Day & Night Creams and Shower Gels, and will be delivered directly to hospitals nationwide.

Clarins hope that this small gesture will help soothe dry skin and provide just a little sense of calm in what is otherwise an incredibly difficult time.

Colouration and Positive understand that some services and sectors will still need to have work produced throughout the current health crisis.

In order to adhere to Covid-19 social distancing guidelines we have introduced a range of social distancing measures, such as implementing a skeleton shift pattern in our factory.

Our businesses will continue with all normal lines of communication open by way of email and telephone and we will work to complete all orders that are placed with us during these exceptional times.

Social distandcing

Workplace Social Distancing Solutions

Social distandcing

Boris Johnson has urged people living in Britain to go back into work if they can, signalling a significant shift away from the current government policy.

Mr Johnson said in an online question and answer session with the public on 10th July: ‘I want people to go back to work as carefully as possible. It’s very important that people should be going back to work if they can now’.

HSE Social Distancing Advice

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published the following guidelines on making workplaces COVID-secure:

Where possible you should keep people 2m apart. If this is not viable, keeping 1m apart with risk mitigation is acceptable.

These are some of the things you can do:

  • use floor tape or paint to mark work areas
  • provide signage to remind people to keep a 2 m distance
  • use screens to create a physical barrier between people
  • have people working side-by-side rather than face-to-face
  • limit movement of people (rotating between jobs and equipment, using lifts and work vehicles, in high-traffic areas like corridors, turnstiles and walkways, allow only essential trips within buildings and between sites).

Hospitality social distancing solutions

Hospitality Social Distancing Solutions

From Saturday 4th July, the Prime Minister has announced that pubs, restaurants and hairdressers will be able to reopen, providing they adhere to COVID Secure guidelines.

In order to begin restoring the arts and cultural sector, some leisure facilities and tourist attractions may also reopen, if they can do so safely – this includes outdoor gyms and playgrounds, cinemas, museums, galleries, theme parks and arcades, as well as libraries, social clubs, places of worship and community centres.

Following a review, the Prime Minister has also set out that where it is not possible to stay two metres apart, guidance will allow people to keep a social distance of ‘one metre plus’. This means staying one metre apart, plus mitigations which reduce the risk of transmission.

Close proximity venues such as nightclubs, soft-play areas, indoor gyms, swimming pools, water parks, bowling alleys and spas will need to remain closed for now. The Government is continuing to work with these sectors to establish taskforces to help them to become COVID Secure and reopen as soon as possible.

Last month the Positive Print Group (Positive & Colouration) launched a new range of innovative social distancing solutions, with specific ranges for the retail, hospitality and office sectors.

FSC Certification

FSCTM Certification

POSITIVE is delighted to announce that we have been FSCTM recertified for another year.

The Forest Stewardship CouncilTM helps take care of forests and the people and wildlife who call them home.

FSCTM is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests.

The FSCTM system allows businesses and consumers to identify, purchase and use wood, paper and other forest products made with materials from well-managed forests and/or recycled sources.

FSCTM “tick tree” logo is used to indicate that products are certified under the FSCTM system. When you see the FSCTM logo on a label, you can buy forest products with confidence that you are helping to ensure our forests are alive for generations to come.

At the Positive Print Group, we only use paper and card that has come from well managed forests and/ or recycled sources and both Positive and Colouration hold FSCTM Chain of Custody Certifications.

Chain of Custody certification ensures that FSCTM materials and products have been checked at every stage of processing, so that customers purchasing FSCTM labelled products can be confident that they are genuinely FSCTM certified.

Looking for a sustainable solution? Contact us to discuss our range of FSCTM certified stocks and displaying the FSCTM logo on your printed materials.
